We're Moving!

The recent demolition of the former Bennetto Middle School was symbolic in that it was one significant step closer in our relocation project and in moving into our new facility in 2010. Now that the demolition is complete and cleared away, construction has begun on our new home. Our increased space will allow for improved and expanded programs and services, enabling us to continue providing "No Obstacles to Health" for the North Hamilton community for many years to come.

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced $14.5 million in funding for North Hamilton Community Health Centre's Phase II of the Capital Plan for the relocation of the Health Centre in May 2008. The Health Centre had previously received $1.3 million of funding in 2005 to purchase the site and start the design stage. This new facility will be state-of-the-art and LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) - making it one of the most energy efficient buildings in Hamilton and the most energy efficient community health centre in Ontario.

The site is located on 444 Hughson Street North, between Bennetto School and Bennetto Community Centre. The new Health Centre is scheduled to open in August 2010.
