MATERNAL/CHILD CLINIC

Open to women in transition, pregnant women, pregnant teens, and mothers and their children (0-6 years) who do not have a family doctor and live in the North End.

Location:
Robert Land Satellite Clinic (Eva Rothwell Resource Centre - 460 Wentworth St. North)

Program/Clinic Hours:
Monday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Tuesday 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Wednesday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Goals of the Program:

  • To provide primary healthcare to women and children.
  • To provide ancillary services that relate to women in the context of their life (i.e. housing, Ontario Works), in order to decrease the impact of housing and poverty.
  • To provide education in areas related to Maternal/Child health issues (i.e. parenting, family violence, nutrition, infant growth and development).

Description of Program (activities, participants, etc.)

  • A welcoming, stimulating environment for moms, babies and children.
  • Convenient full-service health care - access to dietitian, family support workers and nurse practitioner.
  • Access to "family doctor" and Maternity Centre of Hamilton.
  • Access to LEAP workers, transitional support workers, Legal Aid, housing workers.
